The purpose of the HCHA is to provide safe, clean, and structurally sound housing for very low-income residents of Harris County.

HCHA is a governmental non-profit corporation providing services to the residents of Harris County in a HUD designated Services Area. The HCHA Service Area is approximately 1100 square miles and serves approximately 1.7 million people.

HCHA will optimize administration and management of processes while operating exceptional housing programs so that opportunities can be realized when available.

We house the homeless, provide new apartment homes for the elderly and enable homeownership for families; and are ranked as one of the best housing authorities in the country by the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development.
